For the wall design, I plan to design a curved wall, which requires understanding the rules of thumb regarding the radius of the curve. If the curved wall is too open without any support, the wall may become unstable. Therefore I set an engaged pier at the curved position of my wall to support both the wall and bearers. It is actually feasible to build a curved wall because the stream of the wall concrete strip footing can follow. The opening of the wall is supported by a steel lintel to disperse the load of the wall. The solid wall is designed with some small openings achieved by rotating bricks, which allows sunlight to pass through the openings to ensure that there is still enough sunlight in the shelter.
